Aaron Wilson has tweeted that the Bears are expected to sign offensive tackle Julie'n Davenport. Davenport was part of a number of free agents that were participating in the Bears' camp as tryouts.
Davenport is 27 years old, is 6 foot 7, and weighs 315 pounds. He is an IMPOSING presence. He has some experience at both right and left tackle and therefore adds some versatility for the Bears' Oline.
He is a former fourth-round pick by the Texans back in 2017 and was part of the trade that sent Laremy Tunsil to Houston. He was later signed by the Colts and appeared in 9 games for them in 2021.
You can never have too much depth on the offensive line as it is one of the most injured positions in football. It would be a decent insurance signing for Chicago although nothing has been confirmed yet.
