Bears 1st Round Pick Recalls how he Accidentally trained for the Wrong Test
As reported by Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, Bears 1st round offensive tackle Darnell Wright accidently trained for the wide receiver conditioning test, even though he is a 333 pound OT.
The wide receiver test is notably harder to complete, as it is much longer and faster, and made for much lighter athletes:
"I was looking at the wide receivers' running portion of the workout, so I was doing theirs. So then I came back and obviously we have different, so more distance and lower time"
- Wright said
Wright even stated that he lost 16 pounds of fat from the training, and feels like he benefited from it.

Bears GM Ryan Poles noted his unreal conditioning test, without knowing he trained for the wrong one. Poles said:
"He absolutely crushed the conditioning test. Like didn't break a sweat"
Wright was the 10th pick in the 2023 draft, and looks to have already shown immense talent heading into his first year.
