Another defensive lineman has been cut by Ryan Poles
Brad Biggs reported that the Chicago Bears have released DT Trevon Coley.
I have to say that I did not expect this move. I know that interior defensive line is one of the positions where the Bears have the most depth, but I really thought he would end up ultimately making the final 53-man roster.
He was signed midway through training camp. Coley has actually been a force on the defensive line throughout the preseason. He's totaled five tackles, three for a loss, three sacks, and six quarterback hits. For a 3 tech defensive tackle, that's madly impressive.
However, as we all know, this is a cruel league and making a final roster is such a hard thing to accomplish. I fully expect Coley to end up on the practice squad if he is not picked up by another team in the next few days.
