A Veteran ESPN Staff Member Passes Away Suddenly From a Severe Heart Attack
On this somber Super Bowl day, ESPN is grappling with the devastating loss of one of its esteemed employees. Dick Vitale had previously appealed for prayers for former producer Barry Sacks, who had suffered a heart attack. Unfortunately, the situation took a turn for the worst and Sacks passed away from the massive heart attack.
Vitale shared the sad news in a tweet, saying, "It is with great sorrow that I report the passing of Barry Sacks, our dear friend and former colleague at ESPN. He lost his life this morning from the heart attack he suffered. Barry was greatly respected by all who knew him in the ESPN community. He had a passion for everything he did, and my heart goes out to his wife, JoAnn, and family. May he rest in peace." The heart attack on Saturday was too much for Sacks to overcome, and he passed away on Sunday.
