A season of change is upon Chicago as we head into the off-season. We have our leadership in place, we have our Quarterback, and the team seems to have a new life to it. There are a million things the Bears could do with the number one pick in the NFL draft this year. One real possibility and a persistent rumor is that the Bears will trade down for more picks and some defensive pieces.
Big defensive pieces like Daron Payne or Javon Hargrave could end up being easy picks for the Bears. The defensive issues are no secret and with the Bears getting a meager 20 sacks this past season, it's easy to see why defense is a big priority.
Eberflus is great at talent building, and he is also a big defensive guy so I know this season hurt him. Our secondary is pretty solid although it needs some depth. If you gave the Bears some tangible improvements at the defensive line and they started putting the pressure on quarterbacks, we could see the defense take great strides next season.
The Bears have always been defined by their defense, and just because the offense is stepping up doesn't mean the D won't Bear Down!
