The Chicago Bears reported that they released TE Rysen John earlier Tuesday.

John was claimed off waivers from the New York Giants, a few months ago.

John, 24, spent last season on injured reserve due to an ankle injury. He arrived in the NFL by way of Vancouver Canada. John played college football as a wide receiver for Simon Fraser University, located in British Columbia. The SFU football program competes in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference of NCAA Division II. In his senior college season, John was selected to play in the 2020 Hula Bowl.

I am sad to see him go. While he did not have that good of a shot to make the roster, his ceiling is still extremely high. This guy is a physical specimen. In fact, he possesses an intriguing combination of size and speed. The 24-year-old stands at 6-foot-7, weighs 237 pounds and ran a 4.60 40-yard dash time at the 2020 NFL Combine.

Bets of luck to him in the future!
