With the 8th overall pick in the draft, the Falcons shockingly selected QB Michael Penix Jr. In a video that was then shared after the pick, we see Falcons owner Arthur Blank being just as confused as their fans:

In this video, it appears that Falcons GM Terry Fontenot is trying to explain to Smith why he drafted Penix, and it looks like Smith isn't sold on this decision that was surprisingly made.

The Falcons signed veteran QB Kirk Cousins to a 4-year deal for $180 million this offseason. Usually when a team makes such an expensive and lengthy signing, they tend to commit to this player. However, in the Falcons' case, they drafted a competitor to Cousins.

Though Penix Jr. had a fantastic year this past season while at Washington, many are concerned over his past with injuries. Many analysts predicted for Penix Jr. to fall in this draft, and were certainly not predicting him to be a top 10 pick.

The Falcons were not in need of a QB, so this pick has shocked all viewers around the NFL, and the Falcons owner is clearly not happy with this pick either.
