Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud is facing criticism over his baseball throwing technique after a video of him practicing at a Houston Astros game went viral. His routine, meant as practice for the ceremonial first pitch, appeared ordinary, but fans quickly pointed out an unusual aspect of his throwing motion.

Despite the social media backlash, Stroud, the 2023 Offensive Player of the Year, threw a commendable first pitch. His main focus, however, remains on football, where he has a bright future. Selected second overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, Stroud is not planning to pursue a career in two sports like Deion Sanders or Bo Jackson.

In the game that followed, the Astros were defeated 6-3, and the Braves clinched the series with a 5-4 win the next day. This marked a challenging start for the Astros, who are struggling early in the season with a 6-14 record.
