A story recently came out that legendary Bears QB Jim McMahon came close to needing to have his leg amputated recently.
McMahon had ankle surgery from past football injuries that ended up having some complications. According to the former QB, his foot literally exploded which cause him to need several surgeries to fix it including 6 skin grafts.
Most recently, a complication from an ankle surgery to correct past football damage resulted in a foot that, as McMahon eloquently puts it, «literally exploded.»
The setback resulted in several emergency surgeries, six skin grafts, and the very real possibility that a growing and hard to manage infection would result in an amputation of his leg.
The legendary QB might be older now days but still manages to live life at his own rhythm.
