Bears are releasing newcomer wide receiver

As reported this morning, the Chicago Bears are expected to release WR Collin Johnson:
Johnson was drafted by the Jaguars as their 5th-round section in 2020. His rookie year wasn't too bad, as he was able to make some big plays and score a few touchdowns. However, injuries got in the way and he was released ahead of the 2021 season.
Johnson then signed with the Giants, but after tearing his achilles, he was waived.
The Bears then claimed Johnson off of waivers ahead of the 2023 season, and was signed to the active roster in January of this year.
Now, with the Bears having a new and improved wide receiver room with Keenan Allen, DJ Moore, and Rome Odunze, they no longer need Johnson on their depth chart and will be releasing him shortly.
