WATCH: Saquon Barkley Gave Honest Answer About What He Expects For His Next Contract
It's no secret that the Chicago Bears have the most cap room in the NFL going into the off-season. Indeed, with over 100$ in projected cap space, one would expect GM Ryan Poles to spend a lot of that money.
Well, with that being said, one of the biggest names in free agency is Giants' RB Saquon Barkley.
Well, here is what Barkley had to say about his potential contract.
Christian McCaffrey is the NFL's highest-paid running back. He signed a four-year contract extension, averaging $16,015,853 per year with $39,162,500 guarantees, in 2020. McCaffrey has a running back-best of $30,062,500 fully guaranteed at signing.
"I'm realistic. I knew what I was on pace to do. But having two years filled up with injuries and having a season not performing to the level that I know I can perform doesn't help," Barkley said after the loss. "But I think I was able to show the type of caliber a player I am the things I am able to do on a football field. That is something I wanted to do. That was my goal. I was able to accomplish that."
