VIDEO: This David Montgomery's run shows why he is deserving of a contract extension

Let me start by saying that I am fully aware that extending a running back in the NFL is a very tricky thing to do due to the very little positional value and the high injury risks. I am also very much aware that the average career for a running back is extremely short so you should tread very carefully when extending a running back in this league.

With that being said, I still believe that the Bears should start thinking about giving a contract extension to RB David Montgomery. Of course, the contract should not be fully guaranteed and the duration has to be fairly short-term, but Montgomery clearly deserves to be here for a few more seasons at least.

He has been extremely serviceable and he showed once again. on Sunday Night the kind of talent he has.

Here is a video of one of his best runs that could have been a huge turning point in the game. Keep in mind that this run came on a 2nd and 22.
