Two very key defensive players were absent from practice today.
Today was supposed to be the second day of this part of OTAs for the Chicago Bears but, due to a lack of respect for the CBA rules, the Bears were forced to miss out on a day of practice on Tuesday.
Well, Bears writer Kevin Fishbain reported that CB Kyler Gordon and DE Robert Quinn were absent from practice.
It was kind of a surprise to see Gordon on the list. You normally see veteran players like Quinn sit out these optional practices but, normally, rookies are almost always present.
Hopefully, Gordon's absence was non-injury related and he will be back very soon.
Fishbain also reported that Jaylon Johnson was back running with the first team. He also said that he had an impressive pass breakup. This is very nice to hear since Johnson should be one of the most important players on the defense and his role will be massive in Eberflus' scheme.
Finally, Fishbain mentioned that safety DeAndre Houston-Carson had a pair of interceptions. Houston-Carson has been a fan favorite in Chicago for a while now and it's ice to see that he is playing very nicely so far this off-season.
