This is the textbook definition of addition by subtraction for the Bears
Yesterday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reported that the Atlanta Falcons have agreed to sign Germain Ifedi. It's a one-year deal for the 2016 Seahawks' first-round selection.
Ifedi started all 16 games for the Bears in 2020 and he started 7 out of the 9 games he was dressed in 2021. He graded in the 60s in both seasons in Chicago. Pretty mediocre...
He was not very fundamentally sound in the run game and he lacked consistency in pass coverage. Ifedi was also seen having a pretty questionable attitude on the field. On multiple occasions, we saw him walking on the field while the play was still going on, we saw him witnessing his QB getting hit late and he did nothing. You can see the example in the link down below.
Here is a play where Germain is seen lashing out at his teammate Teven Jenkins because he protected his quarterback. This is not the kind of player the Bears are looking for upfront...
