It has been reported that the Bears are releasing tight-end Jesper Horsted due to a failed physical. Bears fans are starting to get familiar with this type of news as Chicago had to cancel the signing of DT Larry Ogunjobi at the start of free agency.
Horsted appeared in 7 games in 2021 only getting targeted 3 times. He caught 2 passes and both went for touchdowns. He was expected to take on a bigger role in 2022 but that will obviously not be the case.
After a fantastic display in the final pre-season game of the 2021 season, some people believed the tight-end deserved a chance to prove his worth during the regular season. During that game, Horsted caught five passes for 104 yards and 3 Td's.
