The bears have released a DL hometown kid.
The official Bears communication page released this statement:
We have released DL Micah Dew-Treadway from the practice squad and signed OL Zachary Thomas to the practice squad.
Out of high school, Dew-Treadway went to Notre Dame and actually spent four seasons with the Fighting Irish before transferring to Minnesota, where he played 2019-2021.
You read that right, Micah Dew-Treadway has spent seven years in college. He was not able to prove himself enough to make the team, unfortunately...
As for Thomas, he was selected in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL draft, and he'll get a chance to keep developing on the practice squad. He's the only draft class member who's not currently on the active roster.
