The Bears have hired a new tight ends coach
Jim Dray has been hired to be the next Chicago Bears tight ends coach, Albert Breer reported last night.
Dray played eight seasons in the NFL. Most of his time was with the Cardinals and the Browns. He spent the last two seasons in Arizona as an offensive quality control coach. Dray played his college ball and has his degree out of Stanford University.
NFL veteran Zach Ertz, who played under Dray last season, took the time to respond to the news to say how he enjoyed playing for Dray.
Jim Dray will have the task to try to take talented young tight end Cole Kmet to the next level. He had a pretty good sophomore campaign. He caught 60 balls for a total of 612 yards. With Jimmy Graham leaving the Bears, Kmet will have his opportunity to step up as a valuable target to Justin Fields in 2022.
