The Bears have added 5 players to the PUP list and Non-Football Injury
Bears Communication has reported that the Chicago Bears have declared DL Sam Kamara and LB Roquan Smith Physically Unable to Perform (Active/PUP) and declared DB Dane Cruikshank, DB Michael Joseph and WR Tajae Sharpe Non-Football Injury (Active/NFI).
While Smith is strictly due to his ongoing contract talks, I am frankly a little surprised and concerned to see both Sharpe and Cruikshank to the Active/NFI.
I don't think this is a great sign for their chances to make the final 53-man roster. When you are on the bubble of making the roster, you need to take every single opportunity you can in order to make yourself valuable to the team.
I truly hope they will get back to 100% as soon as possible.
As for Smith, I think that he and the Bears will come to an agreement by Week 1 because we have been hearing nothing but positive signs from both sides. Like it or not, players holding out for big contracts has become a new norm in the NFL nowadays...
