The Bears are letting Allen Robinson walk in free agency
The NFL's franchise tag deadline is this afternoon at 3 p.m. CT. Here si the list of players that have received the franchise tag: OT Orlando Brown, S Jessie Bates, TE David Njoku, TE Mike Gesicki and Dalton Schultz . We also expect Davante Adams, Chris Godwin, Mike Williams to receive the tag prior to tonight.
With that being said, the only Bears player that had a chance at receiving it was wide receiver, Allen Robinson. However, a report from Dianna Russini confirmed that he would not be tagged today. While Ryan Poles indicated that he wasn't ruling anything out in regards to the receiver, it appears as if both sides are prepared to move on from each other.
This is something we expected to happen, but it just became more official. Also, all signs point to Robinson signing elsewhere next season. Maybe a change of scenery will help him rejuvenate his career.
