Scout believes this player's snap count will sky rocket this season
With the departure of Akiem Hicks and Eddie Goldman, there will be a lot of snaps left to be filled in the interior defensive line for the Bears.
According to a lot of experts, one great candidate to be a starter on the inside is second-year DT, Khyiris Tonga.
Prior to the draft last year, Tonga was praised by draft analysts for his ability to eat up space as a nose tackle, but was expected to be a day-three prospect due to his age, short arms, and below-average hand size.
Tonga was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the seventh round, 250th overall, of the 2021 NFL Draft.

He was another late-round rookie surprise for the Bears last season. While he served primarily as a rotational piece along the defensive line, his run-stuffing ability was very solid. Tonga saw action in 15 games but only started two of them. However, that could change depending on how things shake out in training camp. With Eddie Goldman and Hicks gone, Tonga appears to be the favorite to start at nose tackle.
