The Chicago Bears had a very disappointing season last year and some people believe it won't change anytime soon. Some fingers point at head coach Matt Nagy while others point at general manager Ryan Pace. The head coach usually gets fired before the general manager however this being Pace's second head coach, some fingers are definitely pointed at the GM. Is Pace on the hot seat?Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic answered this question during his latest mailbag."Ownership still has plenty of faith in the general manager -- they'll point to being one season removed from a 12-4 mark and an executive of the year award. With that said, it's the NFL, and missing the playoffs for the fifth time in six years is a hard sell to keep everything status-quo. Judging by the transactions this offseason, there seems to be a sense of urgency that differs from a front office with a lot of long-term security."What if both Nick Foles and Mitch Trubisky flop at quarterback? Both Fishbain and Adam Jahns tackled that.Fishbain - If the Bears have to start over at quarterback, ownership will have to ask themselves, do we allow this front office another shot at the position? What about this coaching staff? I think the worst-case scenario of both quarterbacks flopping could be the type of thing that forces change.Jahns - That's a good point. But I don't think they'd be done because Nagy has two years remaining on his deal after this season. I also think it would take like a 2-14 disaster to really instill doubt in Phillips and the McCaskeys. I also can't stress enough how strongly they believe in Pace, too.
