The incident came after the Cowboys' 1912 loss to the 49ers in the divisional round of the playoffs. Dallas's season ended with a loss, similar to how the team finished last season, with a loss to the 49ers in the wild-card round.
Following the incident, NBC photojournalist Noah Bullard took to Twitter to post the video and explain precisely what transpired. In the tweet, Bullard explained that McCarthy's actions were «more of a hand to the lens» than an actual push.
He also claimed that McCarthy met with him privately afterward to apologize for his actions.
