Tight end Adam Shaheen was supposed to form a dynamic duo with Trey Burton to start the season and be part of the weapons QB Mitch Trubisky had available. Unfortunately for Shaheen, he's riddled with injuries and started the season on injured reserve because of his foot and ankle injuries. Ineligible to play until Week 9, things seem to be at least trending in the right direction. «He's in our meetings,» head coach Matt Nagy said. «He's mentally staying prepared, listening to everything. He sits right in there with everybody and is a part of it. And then physically, from what I'm being told, everything is good so far. Now it's just a week-by-week thing to see where he's at. But he's a valuable weapon for us that we want to feel cautiously optimistic that he'll be back.»
A healthy Shaheen would be a great weapon for the Bears as they head into the second half of the season.
