Bears head coach Matt Eberflus was pleased with Monday's practice coming off a week away from the facility. He mentioned that the offense really hit its stride and was very efficient. He also mentioned that the offense had many big plays or "chunk" plays as he calls them.
"The offense had an outstanding day on Monday. I think I counted 11 chunk passes and 1 chunk run. The defense came back today had a lot of nice plays on the ball."
This is great to see as offenses rarely hit their stride early in the offseason process. Usually, the defense excels at the start and the offense slowly gets better as it heavily relies on timing. Timing can only come from reps as you get to know your teammates. So let's hope they can keep it together and enter the season on a high.
It is looking good for the Bears' offense for now but there is still plenty of time left before the first game of the season.
