The Bears will have many holes on the roster to fill entering the 2022 draft. However, Ryan Poles and his staff will only have 6 total draft picks to try and make magic. Poles was recently asked about the task ahead of him and here is his response:
«What's nice about this draft is that it's deep,» Eberflus said, «It's deep just because of the whole COVID thing; guys stayed in [college] another year. We feel that it's a good draft to have where we are: 39, 48, 71. We feel pretty good we're going to pick up three starters there, or have potentially three starters based on the development of those players. So we feel real good about it.»
The Bears have found some talent in the later rounds recently, Darnell Mooney (5th round), edge rusher Trevis Gipson (5th round), tackle Larry Borom (5th round), running back Khalil Herbert (6th round).
Two second-round picks could very well bring talented players that should have immediate impacts for Chicago.
