"It's been yet another really weird year for Kyle Long and it's now come to an end. Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy confirmed to reporters that guard Kyle Long will be placed on injured reserve and shut down for the 2019 season. Long has battled injury, played poorly and even beat up a teammate with his helmet so far this year.Now 30 years old, Long will really need the time off so he can hopefully reevaluate everything and take care of his health for next season. He's had several surgeries over the past years. Ted Larsen who has usually filled in for Long is also dealing with injury issues at the moment. General manager Ryan Pace could look at undrafted rookie Alex Bars on the practice squad or chose to look at the open market.
