Justin Fields knows that the Bears are going through a massive roster overhaul that is probably not finished yet with now Robert Quinn holding out of mandatory minicamp.
When asked about his eagerness to get on the field, the Bears QB rapidly shot down the idea:
«I'm the type of guy that would like to know I'm prepared. So, right now, I'm just being honest, we're not ready to play a game right now. And when that time comes, we will be ready. Right now, no, not ready to play a game.»
The reports seem to be unanimous, the defense is greatly out-performing the offense but this was predictable. Offenses take time and reps to get the cohesion and timing between players.
Good news for the defense though as Jaylon Johnson and Jaquan Brisker both manage interceptions in practice. Let's hope these two can cause many more when august rolls around.
