Justin Fields, Bears' Quarterback, to Lead as Grand Marshal in Sunday's NASCAR Street Race
Not a newcomer to the Sunday spotlight, Justin Fields, the Bears' quarterback, is set to embrace a new role as the Grand Marshal for the upcoming Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race.
The Bears' QB will swap his regular football duties for the distinctive checkered flag as he ushers in NASCAR's Grant Park 220, an integral part of the inaugural Chicago Street Race weekend. As a Grand Marshal, Fields will have the responsibility of instructing drivers to get into their vehicles before the race commences.
This exciting development adds to the glitz and glamour of the event, which already boasts the participation of Chicago's own hip-hop luminary, Twista. He will grace the event as an Honorary Official, presiding over the pre-race ceremonies before Sunday's showdown.
Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race will see competitors burning rubber on a 2.2-mile street circuit, with the action set to begin at 4:30 p.m. The previous day's NASCAR Xfinity Series race, The Loop 121, saw Chicago's very own Tate brothers - Larenz, Lahmard, and Larron - serving as Grand Marshals, further emphasizing the star-powered nature of the event.
