With the sale of the Broncos to Walmart and the impending renaming to the Denver "Great Values", It's got me wondering about the future of the Bears franchise. The Broncos were valued at 3.75 Billion and Rob Walton paid 4.65 Billion. Walton stated that he would simply retire the final cashier Walmart keeps employed to cover the difference. But could this sale have Virginia choking on her Oatmeal trying to push the sell button?
Draft Network's Justin Melo thinks the Bears might be the next team up on the auction block, just last year it was rumored. Especially with the state of Soldier Field and the team thinking over a move to Arlington. A lot of this hinges on Virginia and when she passes.
Forbes ranks the Bears as the 7th most valuable NFL Franchise. The Broncos are ranked tenth meaning the Bears could sell for 5 Billion Dollars! I don't really think the Bears will sell, the franchise has been in the same family for 100 years. Five of the eight board members are McCaskeys. I will say however that sale or no sale, new city new stadium, they will always be our Chicago Bears.
