Insanely ridiculous take by PFF on Robert Quinn
Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus is continuing his Rankings and Tiers of each position. While I truly enjoy reading his article and I respect his opinion, he really dropped the ball on his latest article. When I saw the title: "Monson: 2022 Edge Rusher Rankings and Tiers", I immediately went looking for our guy Robert Quinn.
I kept scrolling and scrolling and I finally saw him in TIER 5: DECLINING FORCES. I was immediately baffled. How on earth can you call a guy coming off his best season in the past 7 years a declining player? If we follow the Tier, this would mean that Quinn is the 27th best pass-rusher in the NFL. This makes no sense. I get that he is not getting any younger and take he probably won't have another 5 or 6 amazing years like last year. However, I feel like you should at least give the benefit of the doubt to Quinn that he can still be a great player. He just had 18,5 in 16 games, for God's sake. He just broke the single-season franchise records for sacks.
I am still a huge fan of the content that PFF provides us and I think they are a true ambassador in the NFL, but this was a mistake in my mind. I doubt that Quinn will catch wind of this, but if he does, I wish he uses that as fuel to have an even better 2022 season!
Here is his record-breaking sack:
