It was a name that a lot of Bears' fans wanted to see wearing the headset in Chicago as their new head coach.
Jim Harbaugh.
Harbaugh wasn't ready to commit to Michigan yet as he wanted to explore opportunities in the NFL.
One of those opportunities was Chicago however it never went further than a phone call.Harbaugh has plenty of friends in Chicago including Ted Phillips and the McCaskey's.
So why didn't it get any further than a phone call?
According to former NFLer Cris Carter on Good Morning Football, Harbaugh wanted a massive contract.
Carter reports that Harbaugh was legitimately looking to coach the Bears but wanted a massive commitment from the team.
He wanted the same deal as Jon Gruden got with the Raiders previously.Gruden signed a 10 year contract with the Raiders worth $100million that also included a no-trade clause.
Pretty big ask, would you have given this up to Harbaugh?
