Georgia Football player in hospital after being shot multiples times
Georgia's 2022 linebacker signee EJ Lightsey was reportedly shot multiple times on Monday. The horrible event happened in his hometown of Fitzgerald, Georgia. Lightsey is said to be in stable condition and that the injuries sustained are serious but non-life-threatening.
Fitzgerald Police Chief William Smallwood Jr.took the time to speak with the media. He told Mark Schlabach of ESPN that Lightsey was shot multiple times in a park around 6:30 p.m. eastern time.
"Lightsey was picked up and taken to the hospital," Smallwood declared. "After that, I can't tell you exactly what happened because we've got so many different stories and versions of it. We're trying to piece it together right now."
The shooting's wounds are on his back and his shoulder. This is really a disastrous scenario for a young man of his age. We wish him a speedy recovery.
Lightsey signed with the Bulldogs a couple of months ago. He is listed at 6"2 210 pounds. He plays the Linebacker position and he was supposed to be one of the biggest signees for the Bulldogs this year.
