Former NFL GM explains why Ryan Poles is special
New Bears GM Ryan Poles has recently gotten high praise from Scott Pioli, an NFL Network analyst who is a three-time NFL Executive of the Year (as voted by the Pro Football Writers of America), and spent more than 25 years in the league as a front office executive and had a part in building three Super Bowl championships.
Here's the deal on Poles. He's very smart, he loves football, incredibly hard working. And the other thing about Poles is this: He's exceedingly compassionate and has very, very strong emotional intelligence � which is really important in today's NFL.
There is no telling whether Poles will be a success. Time will tell. Pioli seems to think he has all the tools necessary, including a relentlessly competitive mindset. If The Bears give him the time he needs to enact the plan, winning will follow.
