Former Bears QB Benched as Starter Returns from Injury
As reported by NFL insider Tom Pelissero, Browns starting QB Deshaun Watson is off of the injury report and will be starting on Sunday:
For the past few games, former Bears QB PJ Walker was named as the Browns starter to fill in for Watson. In 3 games played, Walker has thrown for a total of 618 yards, 1 touchdown, and 5 interceptions.
Walker was signed to the Bears early on this offseason, but after preseason came to an end, the Bears decided to move on from Walker and release him before the regular season started.
Shortly after his release, the Browns signed Walker to their practice squad, but activated him to the roster when Watson suffered his injury.
Since replacing Watson, Walker has led the Browns to 2 wins in 3 games, but with Watson back from injury, Walker will serve as the team's backup.
