DeAndre Houston-Carson showing his ball-hawking skills
The Bears are clearly not filled with proven veterans' presence in the locker room. However, one great leader in the secondary is clearly DeAndre Houston-Carson. He has shown in the past that he can be a reliable depth piece and that he can also be a solid mentor to younger players (aka Kyler Gordon and Jaquan Brisker).
Houston-Carson started in 3 contests last season. He has over 50 tackles. However, he made his biggest impact on special teams. He has been, during his time in Chicago, one of the best special teams players in all of football. His 2021 season was cut short due to a fractured forearm. He should be able to recover very nicely from that. Houston-Carson is recognized as one of the best leaders on the team. A crucial asset in the locker room for the Bears.
Here he is making a solid play in yesterday's practice.
