Darnell Mooney is very excited about the Bears' newest rookie receiver
Velus Jones Jr is getting more and more praise from coaches and teammates and his impact on the field seems imminent. Darnell Mooney raved about Jones in his interview on Tuesday.
"One guy, Velus, when he gets the ball, y'all will see. He can fly. He's gonna be a playmaker for sure."
On Tuesday, the Bears' "first team" was composed of Mooney, with Pringle and St. Brown getting most of the snaps.
The 2022 third-round draft pick didn't get a lot of run with the first team Tuesday. However, he did spring open down the left sideline for what would have been a long gain, but Fields' pass drifted a bit and forced him out of bounds.
Let's hope new OC Luke Getsy can find a way to maximize the speedy playmaker's impact come august.
