Damien Williams joins Ryan Pace with his new team
Ian Rapoport reported that the Atlanta Falcons have signed veteran running back and former Bears' Damien Williams.
He was on a visit this morning and it looks like he enjoyed his time since he signed a deal lather during the day.
Williams is 29 and he was an undrafted free agent in 2014 with the Miami Dolphins. He then spent two seasons with the Chiefs and finally was signed to the Bears prior to last season. In 2021 with Chicago, he appeared in 12 games where he rushed for 164 yards on 40 carries while adding over 100 receiving yards.
The interesting fact about this deal is that he is the second player today that was on the Bears roster in 2021 that is joining the Falcons. The first one was CB Teez Tabor. Let me remind you that former Bears GM from 2015 to 2021, Ryan Pace is now serving as the Senior personnel executive for the Falcons. Coincidence? I think not...
