Christian McCaffrey Advocates for Modification of an NFL Regulation Following the Unfortunate Incident in the NFC Championship Game for the 49ers (VIDEO)
The San Francisco 49ers' players still harbor resentment towards the abrupt conclusion of their impressive season, which saw them unable to field a competent quarterback for much of the second half in the NFC Championship game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The match rapidly devolved into a rout as Brock Purdy sustained an elbow injury in the initial half, followed by Josh Johnson having to leave the field due to a concussion. Purdy was compelled to return, but he was unable to throw the ball effectively.
The injuries prompted running back Christian McCaffrey to advocate for the alteration of a league rule that could have benefited the team. He is pushing for a rule change that would permit teams to carry three quarterbacks for each game. «It feels as if something was unjustly taken from us. I hope they change the rule to allow teams to carry a third quarterback,» McCaffrey stated.
It's worth noting that the rule would need to be approved by the NFL's Competition Committee.
