Chiefs franchise tagging OT Orlando Brown
The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly placing their franchise tag on left tackle Orlando Brown Jr., keeping Brown in Kansas City for at least one more season. It was reported by Adam Schefter earlier this morning. He becomes the first free player in the league to receive the franchise tag this offseason. The tag will cost around $16.5 million for the Chiefs to keep Brown.
This means that he will not be available for a team like the Bears that could have been in the mix to obtain his services.
Also, it means that Tyrann Mathieu is now even more likely to get to free agency where he could sign with another team.
