Brian Urlacher was extremely pissed about the Roquan Smith trade
The Chicago Bears made a statement by trading their best player LB Roquan Smith to the Eagles. While most people following the Bears organization understood the bigger picture and that it was actually a smart move from GM Ryan Poles.
Brian Urlacher is a Chicago Bears legend. No one can dispute that. His words carry weight throughout the fan base. Well, it looks like he wasn't a fan of the deal...
The Hall of Fame linebacker thought the Bears should have done whatever it took to retain Smith. But Ryan Poles and co. obviously had different plans.
Roquan Smith turned down a contract offer during the offseason. He said if he had signed the deal, it would have been bad "for the entire LB market."
After that rift, the Chicago Bears and Smith likely weren't going to come to any sort of agreement, so the team moved on.
