Brett Favre's incriminating texts in $8 million welfare fund scandal made surfaces
Former Packers and Vikings' quarterback Brett Favre is being linked to a welfare scam of $8 million in which Favre and others are being accused of misappropriating funds from the state of Mississippi for personal use and other expenditures.
Those are some really serious allegations. Text messages from Favre to John Davis, director of the Mississippi Department of Human Services were recently published as part of an "expose job" documenting Favre's scam with Mississippi state officials.
Favre reportedly profited millions of dollars from government fundsper the Mississippi Today. It was said that he received $5 million in grant funds which went toward the University of Southern Mississippi getting a new volleyball stadium.
Here is part of a text from Favre:
Hey brother, (we) owe 1.1m on Vball. Any chance you and Nancy can help?» Favre texted Davis, referencing Nancy New, the founder of a nonprofit organization, who has been indicted on embezzlement charges along with five others. «You and Nancy stuck your neck out for me and that's going to turn out very good,» he wrote. It is alleged that Favre also received a Ford F-150 Raptor from Davis using misappropriated funds.
He also added this at the end of a list of texts:
Call me crazy, but my goal is to take home $20 million when all's said and done.

In addition to that, a pharmaceutical company Favre worked with received more than $2 million in funds from the Mississippi Department of Human Services. If the situation wasn't bad enough, Favre reportedly collected $1.1 million in welfare money for his personal use.
No formal accusations have been filed against Brett Favre yet. However, the pieces of evidence are pretty compelling and this is certainly not a great look for the Hall of Fame QB...
