BREAKING: Giants Players Were Locked Down In Minnesota's Mall Of America After 19-Year-Old Was Shot And Killed
A teenager was killed during a shooting at the Mall of America on Friday that sent frightened customers at the nation's largest shopping center racing into a lockdown just before the holiday weekend, police said.
Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges said the victim was a 19-year-old man. A bullet also grazed a bystander's jacket during the shooting at the mall's Nordstrom location.
There appeared to be some altercation between two groups and at one point, someone pulled out a gun and shot the victim multiple times, the chief said. The entire incident lasted about 30 seconds.
With that being said, according to the report from the NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, «many» Giants players were in the mall when it was locked down for around an hour. Giants' GM Joe Shoen was also in the mall at the time. He was receiving «position-by-position updates from team security until they confirmed everyone was okay.»
