As revealed by himself, via the Falcons' Twitter, former NFL MVP Matt Ryan has announced his retirement from the league, as a member of the Falcons:

Ryan was drafted by the Falcons as their 1st-round pick back in 2008. During his time in Atlanta, Ryan was named as the Offensive Rookie of the Year, a 4-time Pro Bowler, an All-Pro, the 2016 Offensive Player of the Year and the 2016 league Most Valuable Player.

After spending 14 seasons on the Falcons, Ryan was traded to the Colts in exchange for a 3rd-round pick ahead of the 2022 draft. He struggled during his 1 season with the Colts and was released when the season ended.

Ryan was a free agent during the 2023 season and was never signed.

Now. Ryan is officially announcing his retirement, and though he concluded his career elsewhere, he has still decided to retire as a member of the Falcons.
