BREAKING: Bears President and CEO is retiring after 39 years with the organization.
Adam Schefter reported that Bears President and CEO Ted Phillips is retiring after 39 years with the organization.
While Philips will not be easy to replace, it looked like it was time for him to part ways with the Bears. Indeed, many questioned whether or not his old-school approach was still the way to go.
The Bears are a work in progress. They currently have a challenging 3-12 record and sit at the bottom of the NFC North with no shot of finishing above last place, but they have made some good additions to the team over the past few years, mainly by drafting Justin Fields.
People on social media were happy to hear that Philips' time in Chicago is done.
