Breaking: Aaron Rodgers has been traded
After a lot of guessing, whispers, and ups and downs for fans, Aaron Rodgers has finally moved to the New York Jets. This huge change starts a new time for the Jets, as they bring in one of the best quarterbacks the NFL has ever seen.
This trade happens after a difficult time between Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. It was clear that the famous quarterback and the team were not getting along, with Rodgers being unhappy about the team's choices and where they were heading. Things got really tense when people started to wonder if Rodgers would stay with the Packers, and that's when the trade talk began.
Here are the details, according to Adam Scheter:
Trade compensation, per sources:
Jets get:
🏈Aaron Rodgers, pick No. 15, a 2023 5th-rd pick (No. 170).
Packers get:
🏈Pick No. 13, a 2023 2nd-rd pick (No. 42), a 6th-rd pick (No. 207), a conditional 2024 2nd-rd pick that becomes a 1st if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the plays.
Schefter also reported that, although Hall-of-Fame QB Joe Namath gave Aaron Rodgers his blessing to wear No. 12, the new Jets QB is expected to wear No. 8 the number he wore in college at Cal.
