Bears Update: Jaylon Johnson emphasizes that Justin Fields hasn't been given the complete chance to grow as a quarterback.
Bears impending free-agent cornerback, Jaylon Johnson, expressed his desire to see quarterback Justin Fields continue with the team during an appearance on Fox Sports' "All Facts with NO Breaks" with Keyshawn Johnson. Johnson mentioned that he can discern Fields' confidence and believes Fields has yet to fully develop as a quarterback.
"I don't believe the solution is to simply dismiss him and declare he's not the answer," Jaylon Johnson remarked. "That seems like a shortcut that would absolve the coaches of their responsibility, as I think coaches play a significant role in quarterback development."
As we await an official decision, various opinions will surface regarding the Bears' quarterback situation.
Furthermore, Jaylon Johnson, who had previously stated earlier in the season that he wasn't looking to reset the cornerback market, has now changed his stance. After achieving Pro Bowl status and earning second-team All-Pro recognition, Johnson believes he should become the highest-paid cornerback in the league.
