Bears insider questioning Teven Jenkins' maturity...
Teven Jenkins has been one of the most promising young offensive linemen on the Bears roster for the past two seasons. He was selected in the 2nd round of the 2021 NFL draft. While he did suffer from a few injuries in his rookie year, he still showed a lot of potential.
However, Jenkins has been absent from every practice in training camp so far this year...
David Kaplan of NBC Sports Chicago provided an update on his YouTube channel. From what he's hearing, health isn't the problem at all with Jenkins. It is a maturity issue. He is at odds with the coaching staff, especially offensive line coach Chris Morgan.
Head coach Matt Eberflus told reporters Friday that Jenkins is «working through something with trainers» and «when he's able to return, he'll return.»
Jenkins is competing with Larry Borom for the starting right tackle job. Borom was already the presumed favorite for the role, and Jenkins missing time certainly isn't helping his chances...
