Bears Head Coach Recalls the Chase Claypool & Eddie Jackson Fight, Threatened to Kick them Out
While on the "Green Light with Chris Long" podcast, Bears head coach Matt Eberflus was asked about the fight that broke out in training camp, between WR Chase Claypool and S Eddie Jackson. Chris long poked fun at the incident, and said:
"Is it nice to have a GM that can break up fights during training camp?"
It was reported that GM Ryan Poles had to break up the fight, which Eberflus confirmed. He stated that he stays behind the offense at practice, and Poles was standing closer, so he gave them a warning first, but then Eberflus stepped in:
"I went over to talk to the guys afterwords, between the next periods, and said 'hey if we do that again, i'm gonna throw you out of practice because that's what's gonna happen in a game, we can't have that type of behavior.' And the guys were good the rest of the practice"
- Eberflus said
He then went on to say that the rest of practice both guys were behaving well, so it looks like his mini lecture worked.
