Bears Head Coach Matt Ebeflus Calls Out the Refs for Late Hit on Justin Fields with No Penalty (Video)
During the first play of the Bears win against the Lions this past weekend, QB Justin Fields slid to protect himself, but was hit by a Lions defender:
Not only is it dirty to hit a player while he is sliding, but this hit was also late, which makes it absurd that Lions' Campbell did not get a penalty.
When asked about this late hit, head coach Matt Eberflus told reporters that he was not happy:
Eberflus made sure to tell the refs his concerns, so if this does happen again, hopefully the refs protect the players.
