Bears have signed a veteran offensive lineman to the roster!
Brad Biggs reported that the Chicago Bears have re-signed veteran offensive lineman Michael Schofield to the 53-man roster.
This is a corresponding move to the somewhat alarming news that new lineman Alex Leatherwood was put on the Non-Football-related illness list.
Schofield was initially signed by the Bears a few months ago. However, he struggled at times during training camp and he lost the right guard spot to Teven Jenkins.
But, with Leatherwood's departure for at least 4 weeks, Schofield will get a chance to compete for another time for a spot on the line. I believe he can provide good depth and a solid veteran presence. After all, besides Cody Whitehair and Lucas Patrick, no player on the offensive line has started more than 15 games.
